On March 3rd, at 1:30pm Anya Olson, a junior, performed live for the first time at Montevideo Milennium to a crowd of over 70 people. Olson has been attending school online since 7th grade and she currently takes band and choir classes through Montevideo High School. When asked how she found the guitar and singing she said, “I got my first toy guitar at four years old, and I’ve just loved it ever since! I started music classes whenever you start that in school I think it was 4th grade.” When asked about her favorite artists and songs she played she noted, “The Gold by Pheobe Bridgers, Gracie Abrams, and Queen by Taylor Swift.” Olson is publishing a book of poetry called, “To Convince Myself to Be Alive” and is working with family members that have recently helped publish a book.
