AlDean Fred PetersenOctober 29, 1961 – November 7, 2022

AlDean Fred Petersen, 61, of Prinsburg died Monday, November 7 at St. Cloud Hospital. His memorial service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 15 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Montevideo. www.hafh.org.
AlDean Fred Petersen was born October 29, 1961, in Montevideo to Fred and LuElla (Schmidtke) Petersen. He was baptized and later confirmed at Watson Lutheran Church. He lived in Clara City until moving to Montevideo in 1968. AlDean graduated from Montevideo High School in 1980. After high school, AlDean became a truck driver. He enjoyed working with his uncle, Kenny Petersen, at MN Express. Later he went on his own to become an over-the-road truck driver. He was very dedicated to his jobs throughout his life. He moved to his home in Prinsburg in 1984 and started working at Prinsco Tile. He continued to work there until his passing.
AlDean enjoyed four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, bonfires, cruising down by the river with friends, and spending time with family. He had a soft heart for kids and enjoyed playing with them as if he were a child. He appreciated just sitting back, watching and listening to others. He would learn from all the stories. While growing up, AlDean spent a lot of time with some of his aunts and uncles and their families, who became close to him later in life.
AlDean is survived by his mother, LuElla of Montevideo; siblings: Diane (Daniel) Huwe of Sioux Falls, S.D., Debra Larsen of Canby, Cindy Lu Petersen of St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his aunts: Marion Mahlum of Belview and Sarah Petersen of Olivia; his uncle, Ken Schmidtke of Montevideo; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; aunts and uncles: Katie (Marvin) Pitt, Jeanette (Earl) Giinthir, Onell Mahlum, Kenneth Petersen Sr., and Faye Schmidtke; and his cousin, Michael Pitt.
