Carole Halverson

 Carole Halverson, 86, of Marshall died under the care of hospice on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Interment will follow in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service, from 10 – 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
 Carole Rae Burg was born on March 27, 1936, in Ortonville. She was one of nine children born to Gilbert and Mabel (Lynne) Burg. She grew up in Montevideo where she was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She attended school in Montevideo and graduated with the high school class in 1954 and soon thereafter moved to Marshall to begin working for Schwan’s food company. It was there that she was introduced to Mr. Carroll “Hal” Halverson.
 On June 15, 1963, Hal and Carole were married at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo and they made their home back in Marshall. Carole continued to work part time at Schwan’s and was also a dedicated homemaker and mother for many years to come.
 Carole’s enjoyments in life included sewing, refinishing furniture, antiquing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was proud to be an election judge and also long-time member of both St. Stephen and then First Lutheran Churches in Marshall.
 Carole Halverson peacefully died on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in Marshall at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 21 days. Blessed be her memory.
 She is survived by her two sons, Charles “Chuck” (and Colleen) Halverson, Dirk (and Michelle) Halverson; six grandchildren, Haley (and Brendan) McNamara, Jonas Halverson, Elijah Halverson, Samantha Halverson, Jacob Halverson, Izach Halverson; great-granddaughter, Lydia McNamara; three siblings, Gale (and Gloria) Burg, Joey (and Doreen) Burg, Becky (and Daryl) Hilfers; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
 Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Mabel Burg; husband, Hal Halverson; and siblings, Donald “Donnie” Burg, Eugene “Bud” Burg, Mavis Schwan, Kathleen “Kitty” Workman, and Bonnie Hill.
