Ride Across Minnesota returns July 21-25
The largest charity cycling series in the world is once again rolling through Minnesota this summer. BIKE MS: RIDE ACROSS MINNESOTA returns July 21–25, 2025, bringing together more than 300 cyclists and volunteers in a powerful show of support for those affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
Corps of Engineers makes adjustments to Lac qui Parle Dam
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is adjusting its flood gates at the Lac qui Parle Lake Dam, near Watson, Minnesota, due to ongoing rain within the basin.
Chippewa County Students Among Minnesota Connections Academy’s Class of 2025
In June, 795 graduating seniors from communities across Minnesota were awarded their high school diplomas as members of Minnesota Connections Academy’s Class of 2025. The tuition-free, public online school recently recognized graduates during a traditional, in-person commencement ceremony at the Minneapolis Convention Center on June 7.

Thunderstorm chances for the weekend
We went from a drought situation earlier this spring to now the rain and storms not being able to turn off this month! Severe weather ripped through eastern North Dakota Friday night into Saturday morning. A tornado killed three people in Enderlin in Cass County which is about an hour southwest of Fargo.

Poetry Bus to roll into Granite Falls for a day of pop-up poems and community connection
Granite Falls has been chosen as the first stop on a week-long poetic journey through the southwestern Minnesota region by the Poetry Bus. However, don’t expect to see an actual bus pulling into town, as the “Poetry Bus” is a metaphor - a name adopted by a group of four Minnesota based poets who are hitting the road with the mission of bringing poetry to everyday spaces.

Need for volunteers discussed at City Council meeting
At Monday evening’s Montevideo City Council meeting, one of the topics of discussion was the Fiesta Days activities, with council members reflecting on the community enjoyment while also acknowledging some concerns raised.
Ridgewater College announces spring semester 2025 Dean’s List
Ridgewater College would like to acknowledge those students earning recognition on the Dean’s lists for Spring semester 2025. To be included on the Dean’s list, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least nine credits and meet certain other criteria.
