Another week and another active weather pattern was with us. We had storms on Sunday evening and again on Monday night.
Be alert for fog seal crews along Highway 212 this week
Crews will be fog sealing paved shoulders along Highway 212 from Granite Falls to Danube this week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Fog sealing is done to preserve and extend the life of asphalt pavement. A thin layer of oil is sprayed on the roadway, which fills small holes and seals minor cracks.

Thrivent, a Fortune 500 financial services company has inducted Rob Schendemann into the company’s esteemed Hall of Fame.

Chippewa County Fair returns July 30th-August 3rd
The Chippewa County Fair is scheduled this year for Wednesday, July 30th through Sunday, August 3rd. Merriams Midway Show returns to host the carnival each day. The Texas-based company has been in business for two generations. The carnival opens July 30th at 6 p.m., and opens again Thursday and Friday at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours begin early, opening at 1 p.m.

The two passengers of a plane that crashed near the Granite Falls Municipal Airport last week have been identified.
