Cup ‘a Joe, the Montevideo coffee shop drivethrough locally owned and operated by Erik and Allison Sorenson, recently announced that they’re opening and operating their very own micro- roastery named E.M. Roasters (which they’ve named after their son).

No Good Apart From God

Satan has long tried to get us to believe the lie that there is good available to us apart from God. He first told this lie to Adam and Eve as he tempted them to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden of Eden. He tried to get them to believe God was withholding something good from them, even though God had provided them an endless supply of good fruit from every other tree.

Record number of hikers turn out for Luminary Hike

The Friends for Lac qui Parle State Park group reported that a record number of hikers turned out for last Saturday evening’s Luminary Hike. The annual event featured a one-mile hike lined with luminaries in the dark, with hot chocolate and s’mores being served around a fire at the end of the trail. While they didn’t count the number of attendees, parking was hard to find, and they also reported running out of hot chocolate with the unexpected turnout the warmer weather brought to the State Park.

City Council moves ahead with proposal for new utility fee

Editor jstolen-jacobson@cherryroad. com At Monday evening’s meeting of the Montevideo City Council, Rebecca Kurtz, a representative from Ehlers & Associates LLC was in attendance to present a study conducted on approaching the introduction of a storm water utility fee.Originally, Ehlers & Associates presented the council with a plan that introduce rates, and the council asked that some adjustments be made.

Colorado transplant offers combination massage/manual therapy in Montevideo

Editor jstolen-jacobson@cherryroad. com Originally Joshua Cottle planned to be a nurse practitioner, however, being put on a wait list for the advanced nursing program while on his medical training path, Cottle began looking into other options, and found medical massage and manual therapy.
