MinnesotaWest spring 2025 Dean’s List announced
Minnesota West Community & Technical College is pleased to congratulate the following students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance and earning a place on the Dean’s List. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credits and earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for Dean’s List Honors.

Fiesta Days draws curious visitors
Neill Burnett of Minneapolis, knew that there was a Montevideo, Minnesota, but he had never thought of visiting until he made a trip to Montevideo, Uruguay in 2019. While visiting with a Danish expatriate in Uruguay, Burnett was asked what he knew about Minnesota’s Montevideo and Burnett responded that he knew little aside from that it existed. The Dane told Burnett that after he had moved to Uruguay, a package he was expecting from Denmark was shipped to Montevideo, Minnesota instead. The package in question eventually found its way to Montevideo, Uruguay, but the experience left the Danish resident of Uruguay with a fond curiosity about Minnesota’s Montevideo and he told Burnett that he hoped to visit someday.
DNR adds eight counties to deer feeding and attractant ban
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has added eight counties to a deer feeding and attractant ban to reduce the risk of chronic wasting disease spread, after CWD was detected in wild deer in new areas of the state last year.
