Wellbriety group informs council of plans to open a Recovery Resource Center in Montevideo

At Monday evenings City Council meeting, Montevideo resident Morgan IronHeart was in attendance for the public comment portion to provide an update to the City on the Montevideo Wellbriety group’s addiction and mental health awareness efforts within the community. IronHeart informed the council that the group had recently been approached by Project Turnabout to work collaboratively on building a Recovery Community Organization. “Basically, it’s an outreach program. We’re working with Project Turnabout’s lawyers and Van-Binsbergen and Associates lawyers to work out a lease for the lower level of the Klein Bank building to open that up as a Recovery Resource Center to do outreach. We’ll have meetings there. We’re doing jail meetings in Granite Falls and Montevideo now. We have our Peer Recovery Coach training going on at Project Turnabout right now with thirteen people from our group actively being trained to be Peer Recovery Coaches in our community. It is really exciting for us,” IronHeart said.
