Despite temperatures climbing into the nineties on Saturday, a large crowd gathered for the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum’s annual Ray Fagen Memorial Airshow. This year’s theme, Pride of the Pacific, was in homage to the military planes and vehicles of WWII, and featured the planes not only from the Fagen Fighters museum but from at least three other military plane museums in the United States.

Kibble Equipment breaks ground for new facility

Last week, Kibble Equipment broke ground for the construction of a brand new building. The building will house the offices, shops and storefront for the business, and will replace the current building located on the same land along Hwy. 7. They anticipate the new building could be completed by late 2023, if all goes well. “It will give us an opportunity to expand, better service to customers here in Montevideo and an opportunity to grow our business. A larger shop all under one roof instead of multiple buildings,” says Kalin Evenson. Kibble Equipment has been open since 1975, and have been at their current location since 1976. The business sells ag equipment all the way from consumer product to large agricultural equipment, with a focus on both sales and service. “It’s a huge investment and we’re proud to be a part of it,” says Matt Kramer.

News from Milan

Oh, what a beautiful morning, if you like the heat. I hope all of you took precautions to stay cool Sunday and Monday. Did you celebrate Father’s Day? I had many sad thoughts of my dad and several happy ones, too. Sad because I would like to be able to give him a big hug. I was always a Daddy’s girl and I still miss him.

News from WRAP: LGBTQ+ and Pride Month

June is National Pride Month and is celebrated to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, formerly known as the Stonewall Riots, in Manhattan, New York. Throughout the 1960s, the police raided establishments rumored to serve members of the LGBTQ+ community, and then on June 28, 1969 police raided the Stonewall Inn, a known “private bottle bar” that LGBTQ+ individuals frequented. Within minutes bar patrons and neighborhood residents began the uprising in response to the police brutality against those that were being arrested. Hundreds of people were involved in the uprising and ensued for the next five days, six days total. New York’s Pride march this year will commemorate the 53rd anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.

Where is your faith?

Luke 8:25, “Then he said to them, ‘Where is your faith?’ They were terrified and amazed and said to one another, ‘Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water and they obey him?’”, is the conclusion of the account of Jesus calming the storm. The first question asks us to look inward in order to determine not only in what we put our faith, but also if our faith is a meaningful part of our lives. What guides our decisions and our daily lives? Are we willing to let go of our perceived self-reliance in order to lean into the strength of God, or do we see faith in God as an accessory? Do we take credit for our accomplishments and blame God for our misfortunes?
