Montevideo student receives MSU Moorhead scholarship

Katherine Knudson, Montevideo, Minn., has received the Charles Magel Enodowment Fund for $2,200 and the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences - NS-F SLHA/Collegiate Sertoma Scholarship for $200 from Minnesota State Universiwty Moorhead. Katherine is a graduate of Montevideo High School. Katherine’s c parents are Mike & Marge Knudson.

Hawk Creek Lutheran Church celebrates 150 years

Hawk Creek Lutheran Church of Sacred Heart is celebrating its 150th Anniversary as a Christian congregation on June 12th. Former Pastors will be speaking, a church service will be held at 10:30, with special music from the youth and former members and a luncheon sponsored by the congregation will be served at noon, followed by an afternoon program at 1:30. HomeStore Design Center purchases Clare Paint and Wallpaper

In January of 2021, Nolan and Jenna Jasperson purchased The HomeStore Design Center; a business that had been open in Montevideo for approximately 12 years. Since then, they have done some remodeling, updates to technology, and brought in some additional flooring lines.

Take a Kid Fishing Weekend is this Friday through Sunday

During Take a Kid Fishing weekend (Friday, June 10 to Sunday, June 12) Minnesota residents can fish without licenses if they take children 15 or younger along. “Fishing together with kids is a fun way to spend time in the outdoors,” said Benji Kohn, volunteer mentor program coordinator with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Ridgewater College announces spring semester 2022 Dean’s List

Ridgewater College would like to acknowledge those students earning recognition on the Dean’s lists for Fall Semester 2021. In order to be included on the Deans’ list, a student must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be enrolled in at least nine credits and meet certain other criteria.

SDSU announces Spring 2022 Dean’s List
