Letters & Arts night held at Ramsey Elementary
Monday evening, students from Ramsey Elementary’s Pre-K through 5th grade gathered in the school’s gymnasium alongside family and friends for a gallery style show of their artwork. New this year, guests were able to do an artwork with the newly formed Monte Creatives group. After viewing the artwork, guests were able to enjoy a free dinner, and hear stories read by a “celebrity guest reader”. All students attending were given a new book to take home.

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) announces Dean’s List
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced its Dean’s List for Fall Semester 2024. Students on the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher while earning a minimum of 12 letter-graded credits.

Lions Club fundraiser draws 177 guests
On Saturday, February 22nd, a fundraiser was held at the Montevideo American Legion by the Montevideo Noon Lions Club. There were 177 bingo players in attendance to win one of the eleven handbags.

Gunlogson hits 150th win, wrestlers head to state
Last week, team UNITED wrestler Ben Gunlogson hit his 150th career win. Additionally, three wrestlers qualified for the State Wrestling Individual Tournament after Sections: Ben Gunlogson took first place, Eli Olson and Kam Sather took second place.

CCM Health, Montevideo Public Schools, and others recognized by MDH
The Minnesota Department of Health recently highlighted the Montevideo Medical Academy in a February 2025 communication, recognizing the program’s success in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. This innovative program, a collaboration between Montevideo Public Schools, CCM Health, the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging, and Minnesota West Community and Technical College, provides high school students with hands-on experience, industry certifications, and college credits, helping to address the growing need for healthcare workers in rural communities.
