Celebrate newspapers and their efforts to record local history

When I worked as a Memory Care Coordinator, people would often ask what the risk factors were for dementia. Today I thought we could review some of those risk factors – however, please keep in mind that if several of these risk factors apply to you, it certainly doesn’t mean that you will definitely get dementia.

Oh, what a beautiful day Saturday was. So sunny and warmish. The days have been pleasant enough that I have hope that spring is really coming. But then we get to Sunday with mixed precipitation again. And again next weekend. Winter just won’t let go. Piffledust. And that is my final word about this winter. (At least for this week.)

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs (OJP) distributes approximately $54 million annually in state and federal funds to programs across Minnesota providing services to crime victims. The Minnesota OJP has informed all current grantees, including WRAP (Women’s Rural Advocacy Programs), that all states are receiving VOCA reductions.

Having attended many sporting events over the last couple of years, I’m continually entertained by the conversations the youngest of sports fans are having during the games. Quite often, the youngest fans are crowded right up front, where the action is, and they have lots to say.
