Gold Dusters take 1st place at Lakeview

The Montevideo Gold Dusters Varsity Jazz and Kick teams both took first place at the Lakeview Competition last week. This week, the teams take part in sections on Saturday.

Thunder Hawk boys defeat Benson

Last week, the Montevideo Boys Varsity Basketball team took on Benson in an away game for a 89-75 victory. Leaders in the game included Gannon Reidinger, scoring 25 points with 11 rebounds, three steals and a block, while Devin Ashling added another 17 points to the team total.

Team UNITED takes victory at home quad

Last week, team UNITED hosted the wrestling quad in Montevideo taking a 83-0 victory against BOLD. Scoring from that event follows: Holland Schacherer (120), Kameron Sather (132), Adrian Norman (145), Mason McDougal (160) and Mason Pederson (182) won by fall as Dawson-Boyd/ Lac qui Parle Valley/Montevideo shut out BOLD in Montevideo.

Thunder Hawk girls defeat BOLD

Last week, the Thunder Hawk girls varsity basketball team took on New London-Spicer for a 29-64 loss. Leaders in the game included Avery Koenen, scoring 17 points, while Tenley Epema added another nine points to the team total.

Thunder Hawk girls defeat West Central

Last week, the Thunder Hawks Girls Varsity Basketball team hosted the West Central Knights for a 70-62 victory. Leaders in the game included Avery Koenen, scoring 33 points while Hailey Dirksen added another 19 to the team total. Thursday night’s match-up to be interesting game for Thunder Hawks

Montevideo girls basketball coach Anthony Jackson considers Thursday night’s matchup at New London- Spicer the both Section 3AA North team’s regular season game of the year. “New London is undefeated, 17-0, and ranked second in Class 2A,” said Jackson.

Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawks boys Varsity Basketball team hosted Yellow Medicine East for a 72-35 victory. Leaders in the game included Carson Boike, scoring 18 points while Mason Jerve added another 11 points to the team total. Friday evening, the Thunder Hawk girls varsity basketball team hosted Morris/Chokio-Alberta for a 66-40 victory.
