Last Thursday evening, the Thunder Hawk girls defeated Melrose in a West Central Conference victory 57-19. The team was led by Avery Koenen who scored 22 points, while Kiera Foley and Tenley Epema each also added 12 points to the team total.

The Montevideo Junior High Knowledge Bowl team took home a 3rd place finish at the Super Regional meet at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall on Friday. .

Last week, the Thunder Hawk boys took a victory against Pipestone 60-58 in the SMSU Holiday Classic. Leaders in the game included Mason Jerve who scored 19 points, while Gannon Reidinger added another 11 points with nine rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots to the team total.

Last Thursday, the Thunder Hawks girls basketball team traveled to the Granite City Classic to defeat Crosby- Ironton 62-59. Leaders in the game included Avery Koenen who scored 23 points, followed by Tenley Epema who added another 12 to the team total.

Montevideo will face unbeaten Pipestone on Friday and Jackson County Central Saturday in SMSU holiday tournament games. The Thunder Hawks (2-2) will be a major underdog against the Arrows (4-0) and figure to match up better against the Huskies (3-1).
