Free entrance to Minnesota state parks and recreation areas on Friday, Nov. 25
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will waive entrance fees to all 75 state parks and recreation areas Friday, Nov. 25 — the day after Thanksgiving.

Hunting safety begins with personal responsibility
With many hunting seasons underway, and about 400,000 hunters set to converge on the state’s fields and woods for the Nov. 5 firearms deer opener, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters there’s no such thing as a successful hunt if it isn’t safe.
Thunder Hawk girls look to build on last season
Last season was a series of firsts for the Montevideo varsity girls basketball program. “It was an incredibly exciting year for us, the first time we beat New London and Sauk Centre in a long time, we won a first-ever West Central Conference championship, and collected our first Section 3AA championship to punch a ticket to our first state tournament appearance,” said Thunder Hawks coach Anthony Jackson.
