Andrews makes All-Conference team
Last week, the Montevideo boys and girls Cross Country teams traveled to the Minnewaska Golf Club in Glenwood for the Minnewaska Invite. The boys team claimed the fifth-place spot with a score of 141. Complete scoring follows: Boys Individual Top five: (14) Brady Andrews 18:16.7; (23) Carson Lynner 19:04.1; (26) Blake Andrews 19:24.0; (31) Nelson Velasquez 19:46.8; (48) Ethan Andresen 20:59.1.

Thunder Hawks football team hosts cancer awareness night, takes on Holdingford
Friday evening, the Thunder Hawks hosted a home game with an effort to raise awareness for cancer research. The players wore jerseys bearing the names of friends and loved ones who have dealt with cancer, while fans wore shades of pink to support the cause.

The Thunder Hawks Cross Country team hosted the Montevideo Invitational at River Crest Golf Course last week on a drizzly, cool Thursday. “Our boys team were varsity champs led by senior Brady Andrews, the meet champion, who finished in just under 18 minutes.

Thunder Hawks Football takes on Rockford
The Thunder Hawks football team took on Rockford in an away game Friday evening for a final score of 7-40. Leaders in that game included Jaxon Wagner who scored 20 rushes for 77 yards.

Montevideo tennis team takes on Morris/Chokio-Alberta
The Montevideo girls tennis team took on Morris/Chokio-Alberta in the Section 3A Playoffs in Morris last week. Leaders in the match included Cameron Myer, Brooke Lindeman, and Annie Marquardt, who all took home wins in signeles.

Montevideo takes on Minnewaska, BOLD
Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawk’s volleyball team traveled to Glenwood to take on Minnewaska for a 0-3 loss. Leaders in the game included Tenley Epema who scored 16 set assists, while Avery Koenen scored 10 digs and 10 kills.
