The Montevideo Thunder Hawks volleyball team took on Morris/ Chokio-Alberta for a 1-3 loss in a home game Tuesday evening. Leaders in that game included Tenley Epema who scored 33 of the 34 kills in the game, while Avery Koenen scored 16 kills.

The Thunder Hawks hosted Morris/ Chokio-Alberta last Friday for a 26-48 loss. Leaders in the game included Francis O’Malley who ran 148 yards over 21 times, with three touchdowns. Complete scoring from that game follows: Montevideo (0-2) 0

Last Tuesday, the Montevideo Volleyball team took on Minnewaska in a home game for a loss, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-14. Leaders in the game included Avery Koenen who scored 13 kills, seven digs, five ace blocks. Tenley Epema added 15 set assists, with four ace serves to the team’s tally.

Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawks Tennis team took on Minnewaska at home for a 2-5 loss. Leaders in that event included in doubles, Ashley Klaassen, Annie Marquardt and in singles, Brooke Lindeman who all took home a win in the meet. At the Cross Country meet held in Milbank, South Dakota last week, Montevideo’s Christopher Diaz was 2nd in the Junior High race. Ethan Andresen was first in the JV race, and the JV team was the team champions in the JV race. The varsity boys took 6th place with Brady Andrews leading the Montevideo team in 7th place. The Thunder Hawks girls team was 8th overall. Emily Valenzuela led the girl’s team.
