Thunder Hawks travel to Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd Invitational

The Montevideo boys and girls Cross Country teams traveled to the Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson- Boyd Invitational last Thursday. The boys team claimed a third place spot with a team score of 100, while the girls team took the fourth place spot with a team score of 102. Individual Scoring follows: Top Five Boys:

Thunder Hawks volleyball team falls to Melrose

The Thunder Hawks Volleyball team took on Melrose at home last Tuesday for their first game of the season with a loss 0-3. Leaders in that game included Avery Koenen with 11 kills, Tenley Epema with 14 set assists and five ace blocks.

Montevideo football team takes on Sauk Centre

The Thunder Hawks traveled to Sauk Centre Friday for their first game of the season, taking a 6-36 loss. Leaders in the game included Francis O’Malley who ran for 100 yards through 18 carries, and Brady Rhode who scored a touchdown.

Montevideo swim team places seventh

The Montevideo girls Swim and Dive team participated in the first swim meet of the season at the Willmar Invitational last Friday. The team finished in the seventh place with a score of 93.

Thunder Hawks tennis team begins season

Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawks girls tennis team traveled to Redwood Falls for their first match of the season, taking a 1-6 loss against Lac qui Parle/Dawson- Boyd. Montevideo Cross Country opens season with 10-team meet

The Montevideo boys and girls country teams will open the 2022 season in a 10-team meet at Lac Qui Parle Valley at 5 p.m. Thursday at Appleton Golf Course. “Our runners have put in a lot of miles the last few weeks and we’re excited to get started,” said Thunder Hawks co-coach Dave Schimming, who shares the boys-girls team coaching duties with Renelle Enevoldsen. “It’s sometimes called an early-bird meet, which we’ve regularly attended over the years.”
