The Ride 2 Remember event was begun when the KMS Memorial Ride ended, with Rachael and Mike Felske, of New Prague, took over the event and restructuring it to what it is today. In addition to the ride itself, the day included a corn hole tournament, and in the evening, a meal at the Granite Falls American Legion, and three musical acts holding a concert. There were 271 registered riders for this years event. Organizer Rachael Felske said, “This years ride was our best yet! We had the privilege of making a $,7500 donation to Warriors Path and the honor of riding and remembering 61 heroes that served our country and are no longer with us.” This year’s event featured a key point of mental health and veteran suicide awareness. Felske said, “If you are struggling or know someone that is struggling, know that you are not alone! There are resources available to help you through difficult times, you do not need to fight this battle alone! “ The event was sponsored by a number of area businesses and organizations. “We would also like to say thank you to all of our sponsors this year and everyone that attended any part of the events throughout the day. Your support and trust in us has allowed us the opportunity to make a positive impact on many veteran’s lives,” Felske said.
