Augustana University announces spring 2022 Dean’s List

Augustana University announced the students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year. The Dean’s List recognizes full-time students who have a minimum of 12 credit hours with grade-point averages at 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale).

Local students make Dean’s List at Concordia College

Dr. Susan Larson, provost and dean of the college, has announced the names of students whose superior academic achievement during the second semester of the 2021-22 academic year placed them on the Dean’s Honor List at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. “We offer our congratulations to these students on their academic accomplishments and are grateful for the many ways they have enriched our campus community,” says Larson.

Minnesota West announces spring 2022 Dean’s List

Minnesota West Community & Technical College, announces the Spring Semester 2022 Dean’s List and congratulates the following students for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must be enrolled in at least 12 graded credits and earn a minimum 3.5 grade point average to be eligible for Dean’s List Honors. Spring 2022 Dean’s List Honors were extended to the following students from Minnesota West Community & Technical College:

Southwest Minnesota State University announces the students recognized for academic achievement during the spring 2022 semester. An undergraduate student who completes 12 or more A-F graded credits and achieves a grade point average of 3.5 or higher will be considered for the Honors Dean’s List.

Koenen and O’Malley compete at State Track meet

Two Montevideo High School Track athletes, Avery Koenen and Francis O’Malley, qualified for the state meet held last week. Koenen finished off the state meet with a 6th place finish in the 300 hurdles, running a personal best time of 47.07. She was additionally the state runner-up in the triple jump, improving her school record to 37’ to move into first with only two jumps left, but the final competitor hit a perfect jump and passed her score. Montevideo Athletic Director gives School Board overview of his first year in new role

At the meeting of the Montevideo School Board Monday night, Athletic Director Jesse Nelson gave the annual report on activities in the athletics and community education departments. Having just completed his first year in the Athletic Director role, Nelson said there was a lot to learn, but that overall, he felt the year went very well.

DNR offers advice for dealing with storm damaged trees

Cleanup following a storm can be an overwhelming task for homeowners. If trees have been damaged, knowing which to save and which to remove can enhance people’s safety and the survival of remaining trees, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
