Team UNITED competes in Section 3AA-North tournament

On February 18th, Team UNITED, which is comprised of wrestling athletes from Dawson-Boyd, Lac qui Parle Valley, and Montevideo traveled to the Section 3AA-North team tournament in Hutchinson. Complete scoring from that event follows:

Thunder Hawk girls take home three wins last week

Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawk girls defeated Melrose 72-34 in a home game. Leaders in that game included Tenley Epema who scored 22 points with five three-pointers. Avery Koenen added an additional 22 points to the team's total. Complete scoring from that game follows:

Thunder Hawks defeat Benson 70-56

Last Tuesday evening, the Thunder Hawk boys basketball team took on Morris/Chokio-Alberta for a 64-77 loss in Morris. Leaders in that game included Landon Stock, who scored 18 points, ten rebounds. Andrew Van- Binsbergen scored another 16 points towards the team total with a threepointer. Complete Scoring from that game follows:

MBA STORM BANTAM HOCKEY TEAM WINS CHRIS FISCHER BANTAM TOURNAMENT

The 2022 Chris Fischer Bantam Tournament in Austin MN The MBA Storm Bantam hockey team won the Chris Fischer Bantam Tournament in Austin, the last week in January. The Storm defeated Worthington and Owatonna to advance to the championship game where they beat the tournament host, Austin. Players are: Jaiden Barry, Dan Bovee, Alex Carlson, Isaac Carlson, Alex Claussen, Donovan Curfman, Jacob Feist, Grant Gunlogson, Bryce Lehman, Connor Powers, Alex Rodeberg, Gavin Schmidt, Lincoln Schneider, Kye Suess, Landon Williams and Zach Wrobleski. Gold Dusters head to State Dance Competition

The Montevideo Gold Dusters team participated in the Montevideo-hosted Sections competition Saturday afternoon. JESSICA STÖLEN-JACOBSON The High Kick Team placed third in the competition, qualifying them to move on to the State competition.

Thunder Hawk girls end week 8-1

Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawk girls played against longtime rival Sauk Centre for a 43-36 victory. Leaders in the game included Keely Foley, who scored 13 points and three steals. Avery Koenen added another 10 points with four assists, 16 rebounds and a block. Complete scoring from that game follows:

Thunder Hawk boys basketball team defeats St. James 81-52

The Thunder Hawk boys defeated St. James by a whopping 81-52 in a home game last Tuesday evening. Leaders in that game included Andrew VanBinsbergen, who scored 18 points with two steals. Landon Stock added another 11 points to the team total with six rebounds and a block, while Kaiden Boike added 11 points with six rebounds, six assists. Complete scoring from that game follows:

Team UNITED brings home wins last week

Last Thursday, team UNITED wrestling, comprised of athletes from multiple schools including Montevideo, traveled to Fulda for the Fulda/Murray County Central triangular. Leaders in that meet included Kameron Sather (113 lbs), Daniel Gunlogson (120 lbs), Zander Clausen (126 lbs), Dain Mortenson (160 lbs), Avery Wittnebel (170 lbs) and Brady Rhode (285) who all took a victory in the event.
