David C. Walstrom

 David C. Walstrom, 81, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023, at his home in Belgrade. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, at Crow River Lutheran Church near Belgrade. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Crow River Lutheran Cemetery Columbarium.  David Clayton Walstrom was born on January 7, 1942, in Benson, the son of Clayton and LaVina (Ahrndt) Walstrom. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Grace Township, confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Havelock Township, and received adult baptism at High Country Church of the Nazarene in Colorado. He grew up on the family farm in Louriston Township and attended Benson High School and Morris Ag School. On December 30, 1961, David was united in marriage to Delores Claussen at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with two daughters and two sons. They made their home in Grace Township where they farmed until 1983. They moved to New London where they owned and operated Cedar Inn Restaurant. David moved to Colorado in 1993 where he worked as a truck driver and ranch hand. After his retirement, he moved to Belgrade in 2015. All who knew him knew of his lifelong love of horses and fishing.
 His children were privileged to be present when David went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Darrell) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., Diane (Paul) Mutterer of Rockford, Clay Walstrom (special friend, Rhonda) of Belgrade and Chris (Valerie) Walstrom of Belgrade; 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and sisters, Marlene Walstrom of Montevideo and Gayle Bradford of Apache Junction, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, John and Mark.
