Delane Olson

HOLLOWAY – Delane Alan Olson, of Holloway, died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Appleton Area Health in Appleton, MN at the age of 64.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Pastor Kristine Isder officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery.
Delane Alan Olson was born December 10, 1957 in Montevideo, MN to Dennis and Beatrice (Berven) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Delane attended and graduated from Milan High School in 1975. He was united in marriage to Diane Zempel in July of 1981 and to this unity four daughters were born. Delane was united in marriage to Judy Suckow on September 12, 2009 to this unity Delane gained a son.
Delane was a lifelong member at Big Bend Lutheran Church where he was very active in church activities. He was a member of the Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club, Western Prairie Farm Collectors and Chippewa County Pheasants Forever. Delane spent all his life farming with his father and brother and loved his life on the farm dearly. His Sunday nights during growing season were spent checking crops and rain gauges. Delane enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding snowmobile. He also loved taking yearly trips to Florida with family and friends. Delane enjoyed going to the casino, playing pull tabs, entering his name into local raffles, and playing his scratch offs. He spent many summers at Tipsinah Mounds Campground on Upper Pomme de Terre lake where he enjoyed his time taking the family on pontoon rides. Most of all Delane loved spending time with his family especially attending his grandchildren’s activities, buying them treats and giving them quarters.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Amanda (Eric) Behr of Fargo, ND, Amy (Justin) Ochsendorf of Montevideo, MN, Alyssa (Dan) Kalvestran of Big Bend City, MN, and Adrian (Justin) Golden of Appleton, MN; son, Jacob (Samantha) Suckow, of Lake City, MN; grandchildren, Morgan, Brady and Luke Behr, Brooklyn, Kade, Kendall and Kason Ochsendorf, Savannah Klein, Rhett, Ryzen and Anzley Suckow, Oliver Kalvestran and Ellison Golden; mother, Beatrice Olson; siblings, Jan (Ken) Beyerl and Gary (Sandy) Olson; brother-in-law, Dave (Charlene) Hillerud; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Olson; father-in-law, Earl “Bud” Hillerud; and brother-in-law, Duane Sietsema.
Arrangements were with Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
