Ritalka Inc. and Mind Your Business, of Montevideo, each donated $2,000 to the Prairie Five Chippewa County Food Shelf for a total of $4,000. Company owner Kevin Wald said he heard about the current need at the food shelf, with donations being low. Bailey Cobb, of the food shelf says the agency currently serves roughly two hundred families a month, with the demand being high currently. The food shelf is also in need of volunteers. Currently, the food shelf is part of the national food shelf campaign for the month of March. They have a goal of $35,000 that they’re struggling to meet. Any financial donations made in the month of March are partially matched by the Minnesota Food Share program. Anyone interested in volunteering need only to contact Bailey at the food shelf between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pictured are Kristi Stanley of Ritalka, Inc, Bailey Cobb of the Prairie Five Chippewa County Food Shelf, and Melanie Vigil of Mind Your Business.
