Melvin Mix of Montevideo died Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his home in Montevideo at the age of 64.
 Memorial services will be held Friday, November 18, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating.
 Visitation will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
 Melvin Charles Mix was born June 17, 1958, in Dawson to Lawrence and Leona (Fosse) Mix. He attended Dawson Boyd High School and after high school he attended Rasmussen Business College. He was united in marriage to Dawn Chapman on January 22, 1980, and to this union one daughter was born. Melvin lost his wife and daughter in 1981. He was united in marriage to Darcy TeVogt on April 4, 2009, and to this union Melvin gained a daughter, Jessica. Melvin worked for Chandler Industries for 28 years and also held jobs at PepsiCo, Madison Bottling Company, and Schwan’s in his lifetime. He truly enjoyed working and would consider himself a workaholic. Melvin also had a great love for hunting, fishing, going to the casino and his pets. Ultimately his love for his family, especially his granddaughters was above all. They were the light of his life.
 He is survived by his wife, Darcy of Montevideo; daughter, Jessica (Josh) Warner of Montevideo; grandchildren, Piper and Keeley Warner; brothers, Eugene Mix of Dawson and Michael (Eva) Mix of Dawson; sister, Murla (Ben) Parrow of Dawson; father-in-law, James TeVogt of Wadena; sisters-in-law, Brenda TeVogt SSND of Mankato and Barb TeVogt of Detroit Lakes; pets, Pogo, Mia, Bo and Copper; and other extended family and friends.
 Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dawn Mix; daughter, Charitie June Mix; and brother, Richard Mix.
