Michael “Mick” Richardson

Michael “Mick” Richardson of Montevideo died on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 71.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Michael Duane Richardson was born on September 9, 1950, in Urbana, Mo. to Bill and Nadine (Fastle) Richardson. The family moved to Montevideo in 1960 and then Michael would spend some time in Texas. He moved to Montevideo in the 1980’s and was a over-the-road truck driver. He was married to Neila Werner and they had two children, Melissa and Kevin and later married Robin Solseth and they had a daughter Tara and a stepson Ryan Backer. Michael enjoyed gardening, canning, and working on his truck. He also loved to cook and spending time at the shop with Noel (Skeeter) Smith who was like a son to him. He had many trucking friends from his 50 years of driving.
He is survived by his children: Melissa (Robert) Wheeler, Twin Brooks, S.D., Tara Richardson, Watson, Ryan (Lael) Backer, Montevideo; significant other, Karen Monson; Karen’s daughter: Sam (Jeremy) Huntley and their three children; nine grandchildren: Tasia (Howard) Flinn, Cody (Tatiana) Miller, Dustin (Annabelle) Miller, Keegan Wheeler, Cohler, Caiden, Jessie, Brady, and Josie; five great-grandchildren; sister, Sandra (Dennis) Bramwell, Kansas City, Kan.; and nephew, Greg (Sharon) Bramwell. He was a loved dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Kevin; brothers: Ricky, Richard; and sister: Georgia, as a child.
