Phyllis Wik

On July 20, 2020, our wonderful mother left this crazy world and entered Heaven doing cartwheels like she used to do as a child. She would have wanted to see her family and friends the last four months of her life but that was not to be in the year of the evil virus. Like the old song said “Where is the love?”. She is survived by her son James Clark Wik and Advincula Balanay Wik, her daughter Gail Cecile Einerson and James D. Einerson, granddaughter Patty Thompson and Michael Thompson and Emmerald and Calib Thompson and granddaughter Jamie Caren and great-granddaughter Lili Caren.
Preceding her death were her husband Melvin Christian Wik, daughter Barbara Joy Clauss, her parents Adolph Joseph Sundem and Ida Maybelle (Clark) Sundem; Sisters Marvel Hermoine Claggett; brothers Darrell Sundem and Alan Sundem and mother-in-law Bertina (Nelson) Wik.
Mother enjoyed cooking and baking, reading, walking, golf, bridge and her church activities. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Elizabeth Circle, Ladies Choir, Senior Lites, American Legion Auxiliary, Chippewa County Historical Society, Girl Scout Leader, Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star and Chairman of the County Wide T.B. X-ray Unit.
Her delinquent but loving son would like to apologize for the late notice! There is more to this story!
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. Mckee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Anderson – TeBeest Funeral Home of Montevideo. www.andersontebeest.com.
