Winsel Christiansen

Winsel Christiansen was born December 10, 1925, to Septer and Loretta (Brennan) Christiansen in Chippewa County.
On September 15, 1944, he was united in marriage to June Syde. They were blessed with five children: Ronald, Diane, Randall, LaNae and CharLyn.
Winsel accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man and was baptized in the river in Granite Falls. He was a member of the Maynard Baptist Church, serving 30 years as a trustee.
He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946 and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. Winsel passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the Granite Falls Care Center. Services will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at Maynard Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife June; children: Randy (Sharon) of Parkers Prairie, LaNae (Brad) Cobb of St. Joseph and CharLyn Temple of Charlotte, Tenn.; daughter-in-law Diane Dee Christiansen of Brooklyn Park; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one on the way; sister Betty Holien of Burnsville; brother Robert Christiansen of Mission, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ronald, daughter Diane, granddaughter Tia Cobb, son-in-law Bruce Sorenson, sister Evelyn Gunderson and brothers Harold and Donald. Arrangements with Wing-Bain Funeral Home.
