State files for maximum sentence in police stand-off case
On February 7th, prosecutors filed documents to seek an aggravated sentence for Joseph Rongstad, of Watson, after charges of two counts of felony threats of violence and a count of ineligible possession of ammunition from an incident that occurred at Rongstad’s home on January 11th of this year.The incident began on January 10th as Rongstad began posting multiple threatening messages to a Facebook business account owned by him.
Weber resigns as High School Principal at the end of the year
At a recent special meeting of the Montevideo School Board, topics of discussion included staffing, as not only is the district in need of searching for a new Superintendent after current Superintendent Wade McKittrick announced his resignation at the end of this school year, but High School Principal Chris Weber also turned in a resignation for the end of the year.
