High speed chase begins in Montevideo, ends in Kandiyohi

On July 16, 2022 at approximately 1227 hours the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was advised that a Chippewa County deputy and a Montevideo police officer were in pursuit of a vehicle that was involved in a road rage complaint where a handgun was brandished.

One of my previous careers before becoming a pastor was working for the South Dakota State Historical Society. My favorite thing I ever did in that job was going about a mile underground into the old Homestake Gold Mine in the Black Hills.

It’s already the middle of July. Where has all that time gone? It seems to me that I just put away my winter coats yesterday. Or maybe I’m just a procrastinator and actually did that. I guess we really do need to live in the present and enjoy each day as it comes. Too many times we look back with regret that we didn’t take that trip or go visit that precious acquaintance. So. Let’s really work at enjoying every day.

When I was first hired in 2015 to be a Memory Care Coordinator, some community members reached out to my supervisor, Gretchen Reeves to see if my position could include beginning a Parkinson’s Support Group.

CCM Health’s Color Run returns to the fair this year

Those who enjoy running can look forward to the return of CCM Health’s Color Run during the Chippewa County Fair this year. The Color Run was last held in 2019. Organizer Leah Lehtola, CCM Wellness Center Community Health Director, says, “This year’s event will be a fun one! Runners will be doused in colored powder at nine different stations throughout the route.”

Jon Tollakson wins first Late Model feature at Fiesta City Speedway

Brady Hagen took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature. Tad Peterson took the lead from Hagen on lap three, but Hagen would retake the lead on the very next lap. Cody Hatch would battle side by side with Hagen with two laps to go. Hatch would take over the lead as the field came to take the white flag and went on to get his fourth win of the season.

Council receives presentation on CCM Health 2021 financial statement

At the regular monthly meeting of the Montevideo City Council, the council heard a presentation from CCM Health regarding their 2021 financial statement. Highlights from the report offer that the operating net income for 2021 was $1.33 million with a net operating revenue of $56.1 million.
