Three from MPD presented the Life Saving Award

At Monday evening’s City Council meeting, three of Montevideo Police Department’s officers were presented the Life Saving Award. Montevideo Police Department part-time officer Glenn Dirksen, who is a recent addition to the department, and also a full-time officer for the State Patrol, received an award for an incident that happened on June 5th of this year.

Council approves permit for new vehicle sales business

One of the topics of discussion at Monday evening’s meeting of the Montevideo City Council was a public hearing held earlier in the evening by the Planning Commission to consider a request made by Carey Field to obtain a conditional use permit for his property on Black Oak Avenue to allow vehicular sales in a B1 Business District. At the meeting, it was discussed that while the property is owned by Field the business operating on the property would be owned and operated by Rafael Nunez, owner of Plazita Restaurant.
