Curt Soine to participate for 16th year in the Meander Art Crawl
If you ask Meander artist Curt Soine how he began his journey to becoming a wood craftsman, he will tell you, “I used to carve when I was a kid in Boy Scouts. Fast forward to around 1983 when I asked my wife what she wanted for her upcoming birthday and she pointed to a swan carving in a magazine. It was $400 and I thought that doesn’t look so hard, I’ll just carve one myself. That started it. A person learns a lot over a 40-year timespan.”

Runnings makes donation of backpacks for First Response bags
Last week, the Montevideo Runnings store made a donation of twenty backpacks to be used as First Responder bags for four medics and sixteen EMTs with the CCM Health Ambulance in Montevideo. The bags allow the local First Responders to have supplies on hand in the instance they happen to come upon an accident. Runnings frequently makes donations within the community. “4-H Ribbons, Take a Kid Fishing, Rodeos, Western Fest, the race track - we stay pretty involved with the community as much as we can,” says Montevideo Runnings store manager Robert Jorda. “We’re just glad we could help out in any way we can,” says Jorda. “The community helps us so we like to help them back.” The CCM Health Ambulance is always looking for new members from the community to join their team as paramedics and EMTS. If you would like to find out more information on becoming a paramedic or an EMT, please contact CCM Health’s Human Resources department.
