What a beautiful weekend for the annual Meander Upper Minnesota River Art Crawl. Coolish temperatures in the high 60s with a light breeze. Just perfect for wandering around towns to different art studios. I recall some years when we were having gale force winds and low 50s.

Advertisements, mailings, and pop-ups on the computer are designed to make you feel like you’re missing out on something whether it’s Medicare benefits you could be receiving or information on big changes happening with coverage.

Local family involved in movie being filmed in Litchfield

A trio of local folks, Leo Gunner Baker and his kids Leo C. Baker and Lakota Baker, recently spent time in the town of Litchfield helping film a movie titled “Uprising” which is based on a book of the same name written by Dean Urdahl. The film was directed by Christopher Forbes.

New signs going up on Hwy 67, Hwy 274, and Yellow Medicine CR 2

New roadway signs are being placed on Highway 67, Highway 274, and Yellow Medicine County Road 2 to reflect changes to names and roadway ownership resulting from the Highway 67 rerouting project. A portion of Highway 67 between Granite Falls and Echo was closed in spring 2019 due to ground movement underneath the roadway.

Lavoie returns to hometown with band Colt45 this weekend

Randie Lavoie looks forward to a return to his hometown of Montevideo on Saturday, October 8th, along with his band Colt45 for a performance at the Montevideo American Legion. Lavoie, who has been involved in the world of music his entire life and began playing at just eight years old, says he has always found peace in performing, an escape from the troubles of the world.

Plans underway for 2023 Relay for Life

The Yellow Medicine/ Chippewa County’s Relay for Life planning committee will be holding its first informational meeting for the 2023 Relay for Life event on Monday, October 24th at 6 p.m. at the Co-op Credit Union. At that time, the committee will be deciding on the date for the 2023 Relay for Life Event.
