I don’t spend a lot of time on television - whether it be television shows, or movies. I’ve shocked people with my lack of knowledge about classic movies -having never watched most of them.
City board and commissions openings announced
The City Council of the City of Montevideo accomplishes its work with the assistance of a variety of city boards and commissions. The terms for some members of these boards & commissions will expire with the end of Calendar Year 2022. Listed on the attachment are positions that will open for appointments. We would appreciate your help in publicizing these opportunities.

News from Milan
What a beautiful weekend and what a beautiful week it followed. And yet, my leaves lay where they fell. No gumption to go out and do anything. I am enjoying just going out and sitting and holding and petting cats and watching the leaves fall. Does that count?


DNR certifies a state record hybrid sunfish
An angler caught a one pound 12-ounce hybrid sunfish from Green Lake in Kandiyohi County that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has certified as tying the weightbased state record. The record fish’s weight ties that of a hybrid sunfish caught from the Zumbro River in 1994.
USDA Launches Loan Assistance Tool to enhance equity and customer service
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) launched a new online tool to help farmers and ranchers better navigate the farm loan application process. This uniform application process will help to ensure all farm loan applicants receive equal support and have a consistent customer experience with USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) regardless of their individual circumstances.

Cold front pushes through for the weekend
We all think back to the Halloween Blizzard of 1991 here in Minnesota where snow and ice fell and impacted the fun for the trick-or-treaters. That event is now 31 years-ago, so most of those trick-or-treaters are now near 40-yearsold or older!
