Baker, a father to two middle-schoolers has been involved with the Chippewa Valley Youth Club, volunteering, to help make opportunities available for his own children to keep busy in town.

Thunder Hawk boys open basketball season at home

Montevideo boy’s basketball coach Derek Webb says his players were disappointed but not deflated following a 76-66 season-opening home loss against nonconference Redwood Valley last Thursday night. “Simply said, at the end of the night Redwood Valley hit their shots and we didn’t capitalize on our chances,” said Webb, whose scrappy Thunder Hawks looked for their first win of the season at Minnewaska on Tuesday night (results not available as this edition went to press).

Wintry mix possible late Friday into Saturday

All-in-all our weekend weather was not too bad for all the things that are going on this time of the year. Whether it was taking in a Christmas/ Holiday concert or play, doing some shopping, or just going for a walk, it was a decent weekend.
