Thunder Hawks Varsity girls team 2-0 this season
Last Tuesday, the Thunder Hawk Varsity Girls Basketball team took on Central Minnesota Christian School for a 63-32 win. Leaders in the game included Avery Koenen who scored 28 points with 11 rebounds, and five steals while Tenley Epema added 16 points to the team total with four three-point shots.
Avoid tragedy by talking to kids about ice safety
A pre-Thanksgiving cold snap means some lakes and ponds across Minnesota are beginning to freeze. However, this ice isn’t safe to walk on and the water underneath is dangerously cold.

Beatles Night returns this weekend
Beatles night is returning to Java River this Saturday, December 10th at 7 pm. Emily Wright, one of the event organizers, said prior Beatles Nights held at the Watson town hall, Montevideo Community Center, and Java River have been wildly successful. Wright said as of now, there are about 17 songs that have been chosen by various people and bands to perform and she explained that people are encouraged to create their own versions of the Beatles song(s) they choose.
