Minnesota moms: join the Mother’s Day weekend fishing challenge
Moms who live in Minnesota are invited to join a free virtual fishing challenge during Take a Mom Fishing Weekend (May 11-12), when Minnesota moms can fish without purchasing a fishing license.To participate in the challenge, moms simply need to join the Facebook group and submit one photo of each fish they catch.
Warm, dry winter heightens drought concerns

Senior LinkAge Line hosts presentation to spread awareness of services offered
Last Wednesday, representatives from Minnesota’s Senior LinkAge Line along with Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging hosted an online presentation in order to provide information on how Senior LinkAge Line can help older adults and their families with a variety of aging issues.Claudia Thompson, a Resource Coordinator with the Minnesota Senior LinkAge Line through the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging spoke about how the agency not only provides assistance for older adults, but their caregivers as well, whether that is a spouse, or children, sometimes even just with support.

On Saturday, March 30th, former Nashville musician Kayla Daniels will perform a free concert at the Montevideo VFW Post 380.

State of Minnesota officially returns land to Upper Sioux Community after 161 years
On March 15th, a crowd gathered in the Upper Sioux Community Multi-Purpose Building for an official ceremony marking the transfer of the Upper Sioux Agency State Park to the Upper Sioux Community (Pezihutazizi Oyate).
USDA Touts Farmer Benefit Plans
Last week at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) PowerXchange gathering, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) use of Farmer Benefit Plans for Empowering Rural America (New ERA) and Powering Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) program funded clean energy projects.
