Catholic United Financial is pleased to announce that Taya Weber, a member of Montevideo, has been awarded a 2024-2025 Post-High School Tuition Scholarship.
Area student receives NDSU scholarships
Talan Brock, son of Stephanie and Darin Brock, Montevideo, Minnesota, received the Mildred Larson Business Presidential Scholarship and the Olson/Challey First Generation Business Scholarship at North Dakota State University.The Mildred Larson Business Presidential Scholarship recognizes students who are entering into the College of Business and have high academic achievement.

Upcoming listening sessions on child care licensing standards hosted by Southwest Initiative Foundation
The Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF) is inviting child care providers, economic development professionals, community leaders and champions of child care in southwest Minnesota to attend listening sessions to provide feedback on the draft licensing standards for family child care and child care centers published by the Department of Human Services (DHS) as part of the Child Care Regulation Modernization Projects.“One of the foundation’s priorities is supporting the growth and retention of child care programs in the region because we know access to quality child care is critical to community vitality and economic mobility,” said Briana Mumme, SWIF Economic Development Manager.

Connor Osbon graduates from the University of Mississippi
Connor Osbon, of Montevideo, MN, is among the more than 3,100 students who earned their degrees from the University of Mississippi in May 2024.Osbon, who majored in Criminal Justice, received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the School of Applied Sciences.“Our May 2024 graduates are distinguished by incredible achievements, character and resilience,” Chancellor Glenn Boyce said.
