Located just outside of Montevideo, Sam’s Pumpkin patch, owned and operated by Sam Ripley, has opened for the season with something new to brag about this year.Ripley opened the pumpkin patch for the first time in 2021 when he was a Sophomore in High School on his parents property just a couple of miles off Highway 212.
New Highway 67/old County Road 2 project complete
Work to install guardrail, rumble strips and ground-in wet reflective striping on new Highway 67 / old County Road 2 in Yellow Medicine County has been completed, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.Rumble strips and striping were installed from Wood Lake to where Highway 67 turns south toward Echo.

To better meet the needs of a trucking industry desperate for trained drivers, Ridgewater College is expanding and upgrading its hands-on training range for truck drivers seeking their commercial driver’s license (CDL).Thanks to a $1.5 million Targeted Capital Communities Project grant from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), Ridgewater is significantly expanding its training range on the southwest side of its Willmar campus.
