Montevideo boys basketball team competes at state tournament

Last week, the Montevideo Boys Varsity Basketball team secured a spot in the State Tournament after a 62-61 victory at the R/A Facility at Southwest Minnesota State University in a game against the Jackson County Central Huskies.

Prairie Five RIDES announces service change

Last week, Prairie Five RIDES made an announcement that they will be discontinuing the Montevideo Route Bus due to low ridership. The decision does not affect the ability for those in need of transportation services to to schedule rides on the City Buses.

Another storm could be on the way

The National Weather Service says 1 to 3 inches of snow was common from the late winter/early spring storm system late Friday into Saturday. A few spots picked up over 5 inches.

MAMLN hosts educational event on Dementia

MAMLN (Montevideo Area Memory Loss Network) will host an educational event on Wednesday, April 2 from 8:30 am – 4:00 p.m. at the MN Veterans Home - Montevideo (2190 William Avenue, Montevideo, MN 56265). This event is made possible in part by a Minnesota Board on Aging Dementia Grant.

TOMF “Jam the Gym” fundraising eventcelebrating 30 years

The mission of the Tim Orth Memorial Foundation is to raise funds to assist children who are facing substantial medical expenses incurred as a result of a serious accident or illness. The Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that organizes fundraising events to support the children in the community in addition to raising the much-needed funds. Between the events on Friday, March 28th in Winthrop and Saturday, March 29th in Glencoe and Hector, assistance will be provided to nineteen recipients.
