Uff. That’s all I can say about this up and down weather. Right now it’s sleeting. We’ve had rain and snow is predicted later today. And. We’re not done yet. Tuesday and Wednesday are slated to bring another band of freezing moisture. Enough already, Mother Nature. We’re all sorry we offended you. Calm down. The entire country is facing extremes: floods, fires, blizzards. Late hibernation sounds just wonderful. Wake me when it’s sunny and the grass is green.

Minnesota DNR FalconCam pair preparing for eggs
A pair of peregrine falcons have returned to the nest box featured on the popular Minnesota Department of Natural Resources FalconCam (mndnr.gov/falconcam). The webcam has captured this pair of falcons demonstrating courtship displays and preparing for eggs by creating a nest in the gravel, called a scrape.

National American Legion Commander visits with local Veterans, leaders
Last week, American Legion National Commander James A LaCoursiere Jr, of Connecticut visited Granite Falls, speaking at the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum about issues of importance to Minnesota Veterans to a crowd of local leaders and Veterans.
