Montevideo golf competes in West Central Area Conference meet
Last week, the Montevideo Varsity Golf teams traveled to the West Central Area Conference meet in Elbow Lake. The boys team took the 7th place spot with a score of 179 while the girls team finished with a score of 222, also in the 7th place spot. Top scorers follow:
Montevideo baseball defeats Minnewaska in double-header
Last week, the Montevideo Boys Varsity Baseball team played a double-header against Minnewaska, taking an 11-1 victory in game one and a 9-7 victory in game two. Leaders in the game included Gannon Reidinger who pitched a complete game in game one striking out eight, and was 2-for-3 hitting. Complete scoring follows:
Montevideo tennis takes on Minnewaska, NLS
Last week, the Montevideo Boys Varsity Tennis team hosted Minnewaska for a 1-6 loss. Leaders in the match included Gabriel Lindeman who took home the win with a score of 7-6 (2), 6-1. Complete scoring follows:

Plant it forward this Arbor Month
A single tree can offer shade, wildlife habitat, and a place for neighbors to gather. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources invites all Minnesotans to celebrate Arbor Day and Arbor Month by planting trees and connecting with their neighbors under this year’s theme, “Plant It Forward: A tree planted today grows a stronger community tomorrow.”

The Storm Prediction Center put on their assessment last week about the potential for a severe storm outbreak ranging from the Central Plains to here in the Upper Midwest. This storm did materialize and brought severe weather here in Minnesota.
Pheasants Forever, Minnesota DNR join forces to get new hunters into fields and forests
With spring turkey season underway, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Pheasants Forever are inviting Minnesota hunters to take the Hunter Mentor Pledge and take someone turkey hunting who has never hunted or hasn’t hunted for a few years.
Minnesota moms: Join the Mother’s Day weekend fishing challenge
Moms who live in Minnesota are invited to join a free virtual fishing challenge during Take a Mom Fishing Weekend Saturday, May 10, through Sunday, May 11, when Minnesota moms can fish without purchasing a fishing license.
