Yellow Medicine County Recycling & Disposal Corner: Spring Clean-up
Attention, residents of Yellow Medicine County! The spring cleanup season is approaching, and the county has scheduled three designated cleanup days that will be here before you know it. We have been promoting our Spring Cleanup Days flyer on Facebook, featuring upcoming events in Clarkfield, Canby, and Granite Falls. These cleanup days are open to both city and rural residents.

Guess Who?
Each week, the Montevideo American News will share a photograph from our archives for you to “guess who”. To submit your guesses, send us a message by email to jstolen-jacobson@cherryroad.com or message our Facebook page. We will publish the answers the next week.

Warmer than average temps
It turned out to be a great weekend across the area! I know many golf courses opened up officially for the season. A few had opened up for a day or two last month, but they quickly shut down after we had a return of winter.

Changes coming to newspaper’s appearance
Last week, CherryRoad Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Gulban traveled to Montevideo and Granite Falls to meet with community members to discuss upcoming changes to the print format of the Montevideo American News, Tri-County News and Advocate Tribune. Starting expected in June, the newspapers will be printed on a new paper, in a new size, that will provide for clearer photos, as well as some other changes to the look of the newspapers print editions.
Letter to the Editor
I would like to convey my thanks to everyone involved in the MHS production of Hadestown Teen Edition at the Hollywood Theater this past weekend. I went to the Friday night show, knowing nothing about the show itself, but looking forward, as always, to being entertained. I was not disappointed. The show was nothing short of spectacular. There is outstanding talent in this community whether acting, singing, or managing sound and lights. Our students are lucky to have the likes of Katelyn Siebert, Riley Frank, and Brandee Shoemaker as part of the ISD 129 staff. Volunteers Matt Philaya and Dan Hampton provided valuable skills and support to the production as well.
