Annual FFA Banquet held

Last week, Montevideo FFA held the annual banquet to honor the success of the FFA members. From competitions to projects, the hard work from these members was not unnoticed. The group also welcomed its newly inducted officer team for the 25-26 school year.

UNSTOPPABLE Games awards

On April 30th, the UNSTOPPABLE Games were held in Marshall. Montevideo students awarded are:

Fire burns 146 acres of prairie

On Sunday, May 11th, at 2:23 p.m., the Granite Falls Fire Department was dispatched for a brush fire in rural Granite Falls. The fire, near Highway 167 quickly grew, and a large number of agencies responded to requests for mutual aid, including helicopters.

Annual Heritage Week event brings students to historic Chippewa City

The Chippewa County Historical Society’s Heritage Week takes place each year in May, relying on volunteers to staff historic buildings and provide hands-on lessons and interpretations for school children. The event was held May 6th through the 8th for students from school districts around the local area.

Become a match maker

United Way of West Central Minnesota is thrilled to announce a new donation matching program in partnership with Jennie-O, Dooley’s Petroleum, West Central Sanitation and Ken & Alix Behm. Throughout the month of May, these generous community partners will Match every dollar raised for United Way, up to $32,500. This campaign aims to support early childhood education programs, including Growmobile, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, The Village Children’s Museum, and more.
