Local pianists perform in Honors Concert

Area pianists recently performed in the Minnesota Music Teachers Association Piano Honors Concert on May 31, 2025, at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This is the 88th annual State Honors Concert. The conductor for the event was Dr. Josh Bauder. Dr. Bauder is a Minneapolis-based composer, arranger, typesetter, and music educator. Dr. Bauder holds a B.A. in music and philosophy from the University of St. Thomas and a M.A. and Ph.D. in music composition from the University of Minnesota. He currently teaches at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.

At Monday evening’s meeting of the Montevideo City Council, Pastor Don McKee requested a financial contribution from the city to support Heritage Haven, a transitional housing project currently under construction on 4th Street.
Montevideo baseball defeats Minnewaska, Windom

Last week, the Montevideo Boys Varsity Baseball team took on Minnewaska for a 10-1 victory. Leaders in the game included Gannon Reidinger who pitched nine strike-outs with no walks, while Brody Dack was 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs. Complete scoring follows:

Montevideo tennis has state qualifiers

Last week, Montevideo’s Varsity Tennis team participated in the tennis sections tournament. Gabe Lindeman placed 2nd and will head to the State Tournament. The doubles team, Chris Negen and Brady Backer, placed 4th in Sections.
