Fundraising event planned for Let’s Go Fishing program

On Friday, May 9th, the Tri-County Fishing Club is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for the Let’s Go Fishing program. The event will be held at the American Legion in Montevideo from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Last weekend, these young Montevideo musicians traveled to the 1st and 2nd year Honor Band Concert in Ortonville. A variety of directors and musicians from different schools organized to play a concert together.
Montevideo Track & Field competes in Redwood, Madison
Last week, the Montevideo Track and Field team traveled to Redwood Falls for the Redwood Valley Invitational. The girls team took home the 9th place spot with a score of 24, while the boys team took home the 4th place spot with a score of 73. Top three scorers follow:

The newly formed Community Response to Opioids Program (CROP) Taskforce, serving Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift, and Yellow Medicine counties, is proud to announce the award of $63,054 in its first round of community funding. The CROP Taskforce is dedicated to advancing local solutions that save lives and support individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use.

Another wonderful week in beautiful rural Minnesota. I have only received drizzles of rain, but every drop is precious. My rain gauge hasn’t had enough moisture in it to read. It will come. The farmers are busy digging and planting and waiting for fertilizer spreaders. Of course, the entire county seems to be ready for fertilizer at the same time. Who has the fastest phone line? I know patience wears thin, but everybody will get their share in due time, I guess.
