Montevideo boys defeat Sauk Centre

Last week, the Montevideo Boys Varsity Basketball team took on Sauk Centre for a 66-50 victory. Leaders in the game included Griffin Epema who scored 18 points while Brody Dack added another 14 points with eight rebounds to the team total. Complete scoring follows:

I recently wrote about my cursed attempts at booking stays while traveling. I’d had a snafu with my most recent attempt, accidentally initially booking a cabin an hour away from where I was supposed to be, as it had the same name as a location in the town I was supposed to stay.

Council tables moving ahead on solar panels grant application

At Monday evening’s meeting of the Montevideo City Council, Marvin Garbe was in attendance to provide the council with an update on the Montevideo Veterans Home. “Seventeen years ago this February 26th was the first time we went down to the capital and testified for the Veterans home,” said Garbe. “There were 17 that went down. Ten have died since then. So it took us twelve years to get state approval, two years to get federal approval and two years to get it constructed.”

Deputy Commissioner visits Montevideo Schools

Last week, Minnesota Department of Education Deputy Commissioner Stephanie Graff visited Montevideo Public Schools to learn about all of the things happening at Montevideo Public Schools. This picture is from a session with students in the Medical Academy. Students were able to share their perspectives on education with the deputy commissioner.
