Nominations are now being accepted for farmers and ranchers to serve on local U.S.
Flooding prompts closure of some DNR roads, trails, state forest campgrounds, as well as Fort Snelling State Park
Due to recent heavy rains causing unsafe conditions, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources cautions visitors throughout the state to watch for flooding and damage to roads and trails.

Cavender selected for 2024 Bush Fellowship
On June 11th, the Bush Foundation announced the 2024 Bush Fellows, a group of 24 individuals whose bold vision and leadership are shaping communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations that share the same geography.The 2024 class of Bush Fellows, includes a Granite Falls resident, Autumn Cavender.

MHS Marching Band takes 2nd place
Last week, the Montevideo High School Marching Band battled rain and two performances within nine hours last week to take home the 2nd place spot in the Hutchinson Marching Band competition.
Programs return to Hawks Nest building after water main break
At last weeks meeting of the Montevideo School Board, Community Education Director Kelly Snell gave a report, noting that Little Thunder Hawk Care, Small World Preschool and ECFE have returned to the Hawks Nest building after a water main break in mid-April caused the need for those programs to temporarily relocate.
