On October 18th 2023 at 12:09 PM the Lac Parle Sheriffs Office and Chippewa County Sheriffs Office received a phone call of three individuals who were in the water in the middle of Lac qui Parle Lake.

Major wind development will help Xcel Energy replace coal-fired Sherco plant

Xcel Energy is issuing one of Minnesota’s largest-ever calls for clean energy projects, accelerating the addition of carbon-free energy for the company’s Upper Midwest customers while helping to replace a coal-fired power plant in central Minnesota.The company is asking developers to submit proposals for approximately 1,200 megawatts of new wind projects, enough to power 485,000 homes each year on average.

Last week in Section 3A tennis at the Huether Family Match Pointe Tennis Club in Sioxu Falls, Montevideo’s Brooke Lindeman took home a win 4-1 in singles earning a spot at State.
