DNR offers tool for planning successful deer hunting season

As archery deer hunters enjoy the current hunting season and 400,000 hunters prepare for firearms deer hunting seasons, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters to plan ahead for a safe and enjoyable hunt.“Enjoying the hunt is a lot easier after doing some simple planning.

Dawson-Boyd Arts Association is pleased to present a live children’s theater experience for area students on Thursday, October 26 at Memorial Auditorium in Dawson.Students from Dawson-Boyd’s Stevens Elementary, along with students from neighboring elementary schools including Appleton-Milan, Madison-Marietta-Nassau, Lakeview, Canby, Ortonville, Ramsey, Bert Raney and Minneota will experience The TheaterWorksUSA’s production of Cat Kid Comic Club: The Musical.Students will follow along as Cat Kid and Molly Pollywog start an epic club to teach 21 rambunctious baby frogs how to make their own comics!

Montevideo swim competes at True Team meet

The Montevideo girls varsity swim an dive team traveled to Hutchinson for the section True Team meet on Saturday finishing in eighth place with a score of 729.Leaders in the event included Elizabeth O’Malley with a fifth place win in diving with a score of 306.95, and a 10th place spot in the 100 breaststroke with a score of 1:16.59.Individual scoring follows:200 MEDLEY RELAY – (10th) Montevideo (Isabel Norman, Elizabeth O’Malley, Carly Kranz, Addison Pauling) 2:06.83200 INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY – (15th) Lauren Dove, 2:32.56DIVING – (5th) O’Malley, 306.95 100 BREASTSTROKE – (10th) O’Malley, 1:16.59
